Hi, all! I've been working on this for months now. Pretty much "finished", meaning that I don't know what to do with it next! The Imperial Public Library is west of the Imperial City and is located across the road from the Wawnet Inn. The Library is a large three-story structure plus a basement below-ground. The entry floor is a two-story continuous interior space with lots of tables and chaires, bookshelves, books and plenty of food and drink to be had in the upstairs restaurant area. A door from the first floor area takes you down into the basement, where a goblin janitor waits to make his rounds every night from midnight to 5AM. A door from the second floor takes you to the third floor cell, which is intended as private living quarters for the librarian NPC's. A little elderly couple serve as librarians. A couple of patrons are wandering about, reading books. There's a bartender NPC upstairs in the restaurant area. They all have sleaping and eating schedules. Unfortunately, none of them have much to say as I've not worked on dialogue yet -- dialogue is something I've never done. I made a work-in-progress website that has lots of pics on it: gov.thebigride.net/Library.htm

When you will release it? Seems finished to me, without "pretty".

Btw, Intrepidacious, what made you think of putting a dollhouse in this library? I love it! I love it as well! It's the dollhouse just a scaled vanilla Oblivion static, or a modder resource? Lovely. Hum, maybe Intrepid felt in love with some of Korana's housemods, so... I like the bedrooms too, especially the feeling of the rock walls... and the lights can really give an unique atmosphere to the rooms. I would furnish them a bit more however, maybe using something different from what you've already used for the "Home 1.0" mod (just to give to the library a more unique appearance). Go ahead friend, i'm sure that we are close to the release, you you need to place just a few statics right now!!!

Thanks for all the kind comments! It's been a labor of love, that's for sure. The bedrooms do need attention. Most especially wall decoration! Neglected that -- but the lower two floors (main library space) has been SO much work that the bedrooms got forgotten! Compared to the main library space, the bedrooms would be very minor labor, that's for sure. The dollhouse was just a wild thought I had -- sort of an architect's model of the building. It really is the very library building itself, scaled down tremendously. I truly expected the Construction Set to give me an error message and refuse to place it in an interior space! Initially the dollhouse was in the main library space but I moved it up to the living quarters. The main library interior is two floors -- all one cell -- and, as you might guess, graphically heavy, and the living quarters is a separate cell and is very light on the video card. I almost put a door on the front of the model -- I thought it would be funny if you could activate it and be teleported back to the foyer! It would have been quite an Alice-in-Wonderland oddity! But I resisted the temptation. I did put an incredibly tiny guard there in front of the door!! It was quite funny to walk near the dollhouse and hear a guards' voice greet you from out of nowhere! But he had trouble staying on the table and would end up on the floor somehow. It could be released now after bedroom refinements, and I think I'll do that. Ideally the librarians should have more to say than just the generic "Rumors". They should welcome you to the Library, offer help (even if they can't technically help), and suggest you visit the " Featured Authors" section upstairs where I put contributed works of literature written by Elder Scrolls Fans. I just don't know much about dialogue and, particularly, how to handle voice -- and I'm loathe to put in dialogue with no voice in Oblivion. But I'll release it without all that and maybe there will be a version 2.0 some day with dialogue and quests. I've only put one book in the Featured Authors section at the moment -- a nice book which is a treatise against the Mages Guild. It basically details changes in magic from Morrowind to Oblivion (for example, no levitation) and blames the Mages Guild in various ways for the changes. Nicely done. Read it here: www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/?p=lore/books§ion=176791 There's also another book that was contributed about Jlub's story that I'll be including. If anyone has any ES-related poems, short stories, lore or any other type of book they'd like to contribute, I'll gladly include it!

The Imperial Public Library will actually get to see the light of day, soon! Rather than releasing it alone, which I was always reluctant to do... (who wants to just download a public library anyway?)... the entire library has been included in the upcoming "Imperial City Suburbs", a mod by Tamaravico which adds a suburban city extension to the Weye settlement, essentially expanding Weye into a big, bustling, packed suburb of the Imperial City! Also extending from the suburbs are farms and such... The Library is one of two largest buildings -- the other being the Lord's estate (the home of the leader of the suburbs). I did a lot of refinement to the Library before submitting it, and filled the Featured Authors section with books that the Tamriel Rebuilt team generously permitted me to include. I'll post more info when the Suburbs are released, which is anticipated next week. Here's a BETA video of the suburbs -- you'll catch a glimpse of the library exterior and interior.... Video quality isn't great so keep the window size down. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvPsLnMyVrY

Very good news, Intrepid! Glad to know that you're involved in a new project, and that your library has received new life and inputs.
But now i would to know who is that "MarcusCapeCanaveral" who has rated the clip! ;D

Wow, sorry I haven't updated this! "Weye: the Imperial City Suburbs" mod was released by the author, Tamaravico, and includes my Imperial Public Library. Weye:TICS enlarges the original Weye, which just had a couple grass huts, into a bustling, cramped mega-suburbs of generally Skingrad-style architecture. The Imperial Public Library is probably the biggest building in the whole suburbs. It really fits in very nicely with the theme of the new expanded Weye. Beautiful custom signs were made for several buildings, including the Library. Get Weye: TICS here: www.tesdb.com/files/file.php?id=9514
