What has frightened you more the first time you played Morrowind?
I don't know why, but the dialogue lines of this game seems to be filled with some quite terrifying warnings here and there; they are probably just a trick to keep the tension at high levels (especially at the beginning, I would think); however, what frightened me more the first time I played Morrowind were some informations about the Ash Vampires, that I thought to meet almost at every step in Ashlands... Funny.
What about you?

Well, I was terrified the first time I went through the Ghostgate, and I actually felt sorrow for the victims of corprus disease even though I didn't know what it was yet You see, the Lame Corprus, smacked my character so hard that she died quite fast, so I had learned to go all "OMG" everytime I encountered one...So I picked them of with my crossbow instead xD As for the sorryness towards the victims: I thought "Corprus Stalker" sounded like an imperial name, so I thought to myself "poor fellow, driven mad, forced to fight, and diseased beyond recognition"

I'll sound silly, but I'll tell you what frightened me the most in Morrowind, the first time I played to it:
My character left Seyda Neen at dusk and started to follow the road to the west, because I didn't wish to start with the main quest too quickly: maybe wished I to train a bit before I run into, well, 'real stuff', or merely was I impatient to have a look around.
It was pitch dark, and my torch wasn't giving much light. I was looking at the stars and the swamps, stunned.
Suddenly, I heard an awful scream and followed by the sound of flesh being crushed. I said to myself: "Oh my goood! Someone's been annihilated by a monster. I... I'll die too!"
And I ran all my way, back to the village.
I understood only in my second game, monthes later, that that frightening sound was Tahriel's work. ;D

Nice story Not Quite Dead, seems that Tarhiel's scream has frightened a lot of people indeed (and think that I met him only one time and only after a lot of time of Morrowind gameplay, as my characters rarely goes along that road...)!
Tennisbollen: so are you quoting the story you posted in another thread here, to say what has frightened you more? ;D

The first time I was actually frightened was when I accidently entered the abandoned Morvayn house in Ald'ruhn. There I was, everything dark and there were these scary noises. But the shiny things on the table somewhat resurrected me and I wanted to find more goods but I unfortunately opened the right door. Down there were 5(!!!) lame corpruses, all coming for me. I was all "...EEEEEK!HOLYSH..!" Those zombie-like things scared me to no end and I took off running, bumping in a few things and panicking. >_<
