I was wondering what you're thinking about Morrowind, and more particularly vanilla Morrowind (or let's say, Morrowind with Tribunal and Bloodmoon).
Do you think that that world is rather dark or not? Why do you have that opinion?
Besides, what does make a place a dark place? General atmosphere? Odd books? Frightening characters? Mere violence? Shameful little secrets? Choices given to the player? Hideous minions serving Evil? Fishy sticks?

Morrowind is an alien place, with different customs, mindsets and religion than what you find in the west, and outlanders exploit this.
Dunmer have a different view on violence than what you usualy find around the world, to them, it is not that much of a big deal, I mean, they can just say "But Vivec ripped that guy apart once because he insulted Muatra"
As a result of this, outlanders exploit the rather loose views on violence the dunmer has,and thus we have more violence.
Now, I am not saying that dunmer walk around fighting all day, I am just saying that their view on morality and thus violence as well is different than what we are used to.

I don't believe it is Dark by any means. Its life, its a story of people who are living through trials and tribulations and having faith in a prophecy even when no one else believes. I think Morrowind mirrors our life here in the RL in many ways
Enjoy Bob
