Would you see a movie on Morrowind, like what's happened with Tolkien's "The Lord of The Ring"?
I voted yes ("of course!!!"), because as a set designer and artist i really would love to see Morrowind's amazing sceneries and architecture transformed to "simple" game objects to real ones; and i would like to see many and many persons acting as Bretons , Nords and Redguards as well... Looking at the special effects technicians working for the non - human races and for the creatures would be great, too.
Oh, and of course i voted "yes" even because i think that Morrowind's great story should be definitely glorified in some way.
And what's better than a great movie, for a game who talks with images?

It could make a great movie. They could keep the cost down with a health dose of computer graphics. Why not an entire movie as computer-generated, really? On a cinema-level quality, of course.

I have to disagree with an entirely computer - generated movie... Of course some of the special effects should be only computer - generated, but this can works just for movies such as "Final Fantasy" or similars... With a Morrowind movie, i wouldn't resist the pleasure to see only real actors! Even for all the Dagoths and the others nasty humanoid creatures.

I voted: Morrowind can't become a movie. Here's my point: what's great in MW is the freedom of choice: thanks to Bethesda and to the modders, everyone played that game one's way, some of the people didn't even did the mainquest while they've been playing the game for years... It would be great to see scenery of Morrowind on the screen of a movie, of course, but any story based upon Morrowind's main quest would miss what draw us to the Elder Scrolls: the licence to create any kind of PC and to play the game our personal way.

You're completely right, Not Quite Dead! But, who can say, maybe in a not too far future we will have interactive (or better: "moddable") movies.

I have to agree with what Not Quite Dead says: Morrowind can't become a movie. A movie based on the Morrowind storyline could work, but it wouldn't reflect the game. And I'm pretty sure I would be unhappy with the portrayal of the PC and of characters such as Dagoth Ur. He would probably be cast as an ultimate evil villain, rather than the tragically fallen champion that I see him as.

It couldn't capture the essence and real purpose of Morrowind, anyway, which is to be and to do whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. That's the entire point of the game. And so much would have to be changed -- surely you wouldn't see the movie hero having to become the Hortator and then becoming Nerevarine, etc.... It could be interesting to see A movie of SOME kind based on the Elder Scrolls.
