Hail and greetings to everyone interested in Morrowind Mods. Many of us members at The Elder Scrolls Fan Union aka TESFU have been working on a collaborative effort where we are making ourselves the NPCs of a new small Morrowind town on a peninsula near Pelasiad and the roads to Balmora and Suran. Here is the best introduction to our mod concept .. this is the Bethesda Blog by Gstaff, who will be in the mod, describing the mod from an private message invitation that went out to all members at TESFU. bethblog.com/index.php/2008/06/05/tesfu-modders-uniting-to-become-npcs/#more-649This is a WIP Topic we've started at Great House Fliggerty in preparation towards starting one at the Official Bethesda Morrowind Mods Forum when we are further along towards completion, feel free to join in the conversation: www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=797And here is the Homesite at TESFU where all the mod work is taking place. I will deliver you to the Pictoral Guide to Neacrythe Topic so you can take the picture tour. Don't worry the pictures get more interesting as they go along: s15.zetaboards.com/TESFU_Forums/topic/6536944/1/Please join us for a look see if you are interested and most especially if you've ever fancied seeing yourself as an NPC in Morrowind. We can make it happen - down to your slightest detail ... or at least we shall try our best. s15.zetaboards.com/TESFU_Forums/topic/6534667/1/Thanks for your interest, Ibis ;D

Thank you Osiris,
We are having a good time making it too and the TESFU members who are the NPCs are participating with their character descriptions and many ideas too. We appreciate your interest, thank you.
I also have a sole project I will be releasing sooner that is a retirement cottage on Solstheim Isle of Bloodmoon. I will probably do a WIP topic on that one soon at BGSF and I'll be sure to post that link here too when I do.
Was your Christmas good? I hope so. I worked hard 3 days over Christmas and New Years will be the same. But holiday pay is good so I can't complain. haha

I had a nice Christmas day, thank you. Just had a look at the screenshots at your team site, your project seems to be interesting indeed and you achieved a lot of progress on it. Again, congratulations. I read the entry at Bethesda Blog, too: so that picture shows all of you? That's an impressive number of modder!

Teehee. Thanks for your interest Osiris, actually that is a pic that Gstaff, the Bethesda Official who wrote the Beth Blog and also a citizen NPC in the town mod, came up with to advertise us. Hmmm, I'm not sure we have quite that many citizens yet; but if you'd care to join us we may be approaching it.
Actually if you would like to be referred to by letter within the mod as an advertisment plug for Chieftain's Chambers .. I am doing that for actual real TES mod site owners. You could compose a little letter if you'd like right here .. to Ibis the wisewoman of Neacrythe who is the midwife, matchmaker, wedding planner & town gossip .. and I will make your post into a MW letter and place it on/in her desk.
What we are also doing in way of tribute and thanks to the resource modders we've borrowed from is to make references .. invoices, merchant journal entries, shopping lists .. to them in the mod itself besides mention in the ReadMe of course.
For example, we are using CanadianIce & Howdog's Robe Replacer so the chests at the merchants store holding those robes will say Ice Robes and his inventory list will mention each robe used and its wholesale and retail price. It is a concept I tried in my Solstheim Isle Retirement Home by just placing a Credits Book on the shelf of the library that listed all my contributors of items. It seemed to work well so we are expanding on the idea for TESFU Town Mod.
Might as well advertise the wonderful people of our TES community who make it all happen. And URLs for websites will be included in the Morrowind books. Although it may look a bit odd at first it gives the source for someone playing the mod who really wants to acquire that item at the source.

Thanks for the informations! I could be interested in being referred by letter as an advertisement for this forum, will think about that better in the next days. And when you'll have fresh updates on the mod, please keep on posting about them.

I certainly shall and we appreciate your interest. I did converse by PM with Gstaff today and found out that some of the Bethesda officials including him and his wife will be at the Inaugural Ball tonight .. are probably there right now in fact. lol Nice, huh?
And I PM'd him an Update on the mod written by our Mod Writer/Editor redsrock which will probably be Gstaff's next official Blog post sometime next week. So keep an eye on the Blog. Reds explains it all much better than I do and alot has been happening.
Let's see, things that won't be in the Blog .. Fliggerty from Great House Fliggerty whom I've known for years from us both occassionally helping new people in the Morrowind TESCS Forum at the official forums has decided to become an NPC in the town mod. He is submitting his custom made head and hair that look exactly like his real life self. I have seen both in photo/screenshot and it really looks just like him but in impressive armor. The head & hair were designed by Westly. So he will be an excellent addition to Neacrythe .. I think he'll be an ArchMagister Rogue BattleMage .. so he can retain his magical powers but also wear armor and use weapons.
Dragon_Lance from GHF will be retexturing some of Abdul's Arsenal of weapons which we are using in the mod. He previously has permission from Abdul to retex anything he wants; so that worked out well. We now have a Dialogue specialist who is a great writer at TESFU named Ethelle, her character is the Alchemy Servicer.
All I can think of right now. But I will keep popping by to see what kind of letter you come up with for Ibis' desk. lol

Thanks for posting an update, Ibis (and sorry for the late reply). Just curious, how did you get into the Bethesda Blog? How exactly it worked? Did you get an invitation, or did you asked GStaff to create a blog entry by yourself?

How timely your question is! There is a new Bethesda Blog about TESFU Town Mod recent progress: bethblog.com/index.php/2009/01/28/update-on-the-elder-scrolls-fan-union/How it happened was that Gstaff is a member at TESFU. And I sent out a forum wide PM to every member inviting them to be an NPC. So he got so interested that he made the Bethesda Blog for us which was certainly an added bonus .. and totally a surprise! I am responding in the new blog's comments section right now. I am listing the websites from which we have NPC members in our mod like Great House Fliggerty and Gamersroam. Since you will be having at least one letter to the NPC Ibis in the mod - I am going to list Osiris' Chieftains Chambers along with the rest. A little advertising can't hurt, right?

Yeah, I forgot that GStaff has a character in your mod, now I remember that you already mentioned that some posts ago. I also had a look at the new blog entry and it's very interesting, even more than the first entry you got (the first one was just a general introduction after all, I think). And I surfed through the various links you posted too, to see other WIP pictures. Just a question: where is exactly located the town? You probably wrote that as well, but I can't find the information right now. So, where it is? Thanks again for advertising my forum, feel free to do so in any way you'll like. I'll try to comtribute to it in a more active way in the next future, just give me time to complete my work on other stuff I'm doing right now, my Oblivion adventures included of course.

Neacrythe is a little peninsula sticking out into the closed sea area that is right near Pelasiad, a little North of it on the map. I have a map I made that I'll post for you to look at although I made the screenshot too small to see much; but it's a very detailed map we'll be using in the game. One of our modders FC4 enlarged the peninsula to have nice sloping beaches so that we could fit all the inhabitants of our town there. We have city gates where people have to check in with the town guard in order to enter Neacrythe. We also have some structures further inland on the peninsula and down almost to Pelasiad is a guarfarm where our town milkman gets his milk from his guar herds. i63.photobucket.com/albums/h155/SunburstStudio/My%20MW%20Mods/NeacrytheMap.jpg .... Neacrythe is written in yellow with the arrow pointing to it's locale

That seems a very good location to me, the peninsula shouldn't conflict with popular mods.
