I found that by compleating all of thieves guild you can use the grey cowl to raise skills very quickly because you can use guards as skill builders. Then if you are a conjuour you can use your summoned creatures to fight them yourself and still raise your skills.

Yeah, that a trick that i often use in TES III; works, and isn't a cheat at all. Even if the thing should be balanced a bit... If you fight with summoned creatures all the day, isn't the leveling too easy? What do you think about it, guys?

i don't know about this for oblivion, because i haven't done it myslef (i'm guessing others have, obviously) but in morrowind (at least when i played) my summoned creatures fought back after i hit them a couple times, i primarily used this for summoning golden saints and capturing their souls, but if in oblivion they fight back, as in morrowind, then your not getting skill increasing for nothing, you still gotta fight for them, granted the first two hits might be free but after that....i would say not a cheat but if they don't fight back (which i doubt) the it might be questionable, but if i could conjure anything i would still do it (conjuration = 10 for me right now) regardless
