Yes, the 2008 will be an excellent year for Morrowind.
This isn't yet a release thread, but brings great news for all the Tamriel Rebuilt fans and for every Morrowind player!
At the Official Bethesda Forum, Lady Nerevar (Tamriel Rebuilt administrator and head of reviewers) started a brand new thread where she finally explains a lot of the contents of the forthcoming second map for Tamriel Rebuilt's complete Morrowind mainland project, which is called "The Sacred East".

The complete size of this project for Morrowind - 1 (warning: huge picture)
The complete size of this project for Morrowind - 2 (a better map, huge as well) NEW!
The complete Morrowind mainland faction control map (huge picture) NEW!
The complete size of Map 2 - The Sacred East

Then, when Map 1 - Telvannis has actually its first batch of more than 70 miscellaneous and guild quests in advanced state of playtesting (thanks to Bloodthirsty Crustacean, JennaK, Theo and even your osiris!) and will be re - released with dozens of hours of new and exciting gameplay in only some months, Map 2 is actually in what I use to call 'advanced state of detailing', and will definitely be released for the first time during the 2008!
All the exterior detailing claims are finished and are being filled by lots of NPCs and dialogue by the Tamriel Rebuilt modders; every interior is done for the most part, the interiors for the huge Necrom (the major city of Map 2) is going to be rebuilt with a brand new custom tileset and will be completed soon.
The thread at the Bethesda Official Forum is plenty of simply amazing screenshots who shows the beauty of this new second map, so i'm linking to them quoting the various descriptions as well (as Lady Nerevar's words are definitely better than mine!).
All the following pictures are taken from an unofficial merge of Map 2.
Enjoy! The following are just a few of the places that you will be able to visit in the Sacred East.
Alt' Bosara
Alt Bosara is a gorgeous Telvanni tower built against a cliff with a large waterfall. Master Vaerin, a councilor of house Telvanni who vehemently hates the tribunal temple, currently rules Alt Bosara.

Akamora
Akamora is situated upon a series of high cliffs and is surrounded entirely by a picturesque river. The city makes most of its income from a series of egg mines in the area, though farming is also prevalent.

Ayemar
Ayemar is the northernmost settlement of house Indoril. Built for defense on the top of a high cliff, Ayemar can hold its own against a significant siege. Its current ruler is General Indalas of house Indoril.

Darconis
Darconis is the largest imperial settlement in the region. Though it was once a great city it is currently very run down and seedy. House Telvanni is slowly gaining control of this strategic settlement much to the dismay of the imperial garrisons of the city.

Dun Akafell
Dun Akafell is an old Indoril ruin whose nature is shrouded in mystery. Many natives claim that it is cursed, most avoid the ruin altogether.

The Ruins of Kemel 'Ze
Perhaps the most famous Dwemer ruin in Morrowind, Kemel-Ze is a gigantic complex that collapsed into the sea in ancient times. More recently it has been under the investigation of archaeologists, whose excavations have uncovered dozens of mysterious halls, grand vestibules, and magnificent chambers that speak to the grandness of Dwemer civilization.

Marog sits in a deep gorge created in ancient times with the collapse of Kemel-Ze. The citizens of Marog have looted the ruins of Kemel-Ze for centuries, and are a bit reluctant to accept the Imperial Archeological Society excavating the site.

Tel Muthada
Though it’s agricultural roots are still apparent, most of Tel Muthada's wealth comes from trade between Darconis, Necrom, and Alt Bosara. Because of these trade routes, the empire build a fort near Tel Muthada, Cephorad Keep. Tel Muthada is currently in control of Llevari Telsaran, the brutally direct Telvanni wizard, and her "grand vizier", Aren Sinn.

Wilderness
The wilderness of the Sacred East spreads over hundreds of cells of varied terrain and is filled with many smaller settlements, tombs, ruins, and shrines not outlined above. This time around we have taken even more care in making sure that each and every cell is interesting and unique. So get out there, explore, you never know what you might find!

Feel free to comment and discuss; I would really love to know your opinions about this incredible new work.
Even if I can already imagine that everyone will remain speechless, as Map 2 looks even better than Map 1; no, I would say that it simply looks astounding!
