Well a lot of complaints about Morrowind have been directed at it's combat, on how boring and un-interesting it is.... But have the complainers ever TRIED making the combat interesting? During my time in Morrowind, I have found that combat becomes more interesting if you do something else than standing still, attacking, and taking blows.... For example; You fight a mudcrab, mudcrabs are slow....They attack, and you jump backwards to avoid the mudcrabs blow, even though it wouldn't actually pose much of a threat to you* then, you can either: A) Run back with a drawn weapon, getting ready to smash/slash/cut/whatever B) If you have the skills for it, jump over the mudcrab, get behind it, and crack it open from behind! Now, creatures in MW can turn around with the speed of light, but pretending is rather important when it comes to RP'ing Adding Combat Enhanced and Fliggerty's Hand-to-Hand damage mod will also make combat a lot more interesting.... Again, pretend that dodging manually actually matters, pretend that a blow could be lethal even if it is not really dangerous to you at all..... Hope my ramblings help someone *I would be freaked out if a giant heavily armoured crab came along, trying to bite of my leg

Thanks for this post, Xeth; it could be a good idea to start a very interesting discussion. Effectively, complainers should try to play the game in a more creative way, remembering that Morrowind is an hardcore RPG (and which game more than an RPG can be completely customizable, combat style included?). I do use Combat Enhanced as well as you, which is a must - have for melee fighters characters; very fun if combined with some 'difficulty' (though a bit umbalancing) creature mods such as GIANTS or 'The Undeads'; also, we shouldn't forget that every class and race in Morrowind has a different approach to the game: if we think that every weapon has different effects and stats, well i think that we really can post and talk a lot in this thread. So if you have other ideas, or if someone other would to post about how to make the Morrowind combat more interesting... everything is welcome.
