The sequel to Good Retrospective Morning, the sequel to Good Night.

Good Bye
Vampires feast on the blood of their victims,
Traitors feast on the blood of their kin,
I, I feast on you.
Have you never considered who I am? Not even had a wicked thought flying through your mind? Never even noticed the fangs in my mouth? The wings on my back? Or realised that my eyes are red?
For many years have I pursued you, wherever you have gone. You have been my victim, but I am no vampire and I have not even tasted your blood. Though I must admit the urge to bite your wrinkled, old neck have been me almighty. But I have resisted. I have shown strength. Great mental sacrifices only for this very moment. You, you have been followed, you have been observed and you are now so helpless. No one can hear you from here, for this is your mind!
Cold drops of sweat gathered on his bald head and he rose from his bed with great pain. “I, I feast on you” still echoed in his mind. He walked towards the window cautiously looking out through the rain while he put one hand on the three long cuts on his chest. Only vaguely did he remember what had happened last night, a cat had attacked him from behind, tearing up the back of his shirt and making him fall down to the ground. When he had turned around to see what had attacked him he saw a cat running away, closely followed by the cat he had been watching.
What’s with all these cats? This was the second time in a week that his body had been ripped open by their sharp claws. The voice he had heard in his dreams then, something was very wrong. He went back to bed to lay there while reading a book.
In the darkness outside were hundreds of cats surrounding his house, they all had glowing, golden eyes and stared intensively at the building before them. From behind a hill south of the old man’s house was an otherworldly creature becoming more and more visible. The creature had a body similar to a cat’s but was walking on its hind legs, it had wings folded on its back and its eyes shone red. When it had reached the top of the hill it let out a loud, purring sound that seemed to make the cats insane.
The old man had heard the sound and quickly put down his book, sat up in his bed while staring at the door. When the door fell down and he could see plenty glowing cat eyes he screamed and moved further away from the entrance. As if only to increase the fear the cats moved slowly, they came closer and closer without taking their eyes off him. When they were only a couple of feet away from him and were just about to attack him a manic growl was heard, hearing the sound the cats halted. Entering the room, the cat-like creature limped in on unsteady legs.
“Who are you and what do you want me?” The frightened old man stuttered. Without responding it walked up to the old man and put its claws in his arm. In great pain the man screamed out loud.
“No need to scream, don’t you remember? No one can hear you from your own mind” the growling voice said and with those words did the creature kill the man.
