"Have you ever dreamt of seeing the Adamantine Tower of the Sentinel Palace of Hammerfell in their full glory? Do you want to travel to the Iliac Bay, just to see what's there? Or would you rather scale snowy mountains to seek the famed tongue of Skyrim?
Then enter Tamriel Rebuilt, the enormous effort in recreating the world of Tamriel in a way truthful to the vision of Bethesda Softworks through the study of TES lore.
We welcome all quality work contributed to our cause, from a single book to houses and NPCs!"
These simple, but effective words are a quote from the Tamriel Rebuilt website, and they alone explain what Tamriel Rebuilt is and what its modders wants to do.
I wouldn't call their work 'a mod', because in what these guys do there isn't anything who doesn't runs seamlessly with our old dear island of Vvardenfell, and especially there isn't anything who could be recognized as a modded piece.
Simply... That's the original Morrowind.
Looking at their first, old work - in - progress pictures, i wondered how beautiful and alien should be so far from Vvardenfell; now that i'm playing their first released map i don't see any strange alien feeling inside of me, indeed... Just the same, enormous pleasure that i had playing the usual vanilla game. That's exactly for what i was looking for, and that's simply amazing for me!
Now, less words and let's start the trip; the docks of Firewatch are waiting for us!
Some of the following descriptions are by The Tamriel Rebuilt Team; i'm going to use some of them since i think that their words are actually the ones that better matches the feeling of their work.
The area that Map 1 occupies is mostly occupied by House Telvanni, save for two Imperial settlements on its western coast. It spans diverse types of terrain, from the rugged Boethian Mountains to the overgrown wilderness of the Telvanni Isles, from the rolling hills and fertile pastures of the Molagreahd to the dark depths of the Sea of Ghosts.
Its population is spread across a number of settlements, ranging from the majestic glory of Port Telvannis to the imposing battlements of Firewatch; from the sprawling bridges of Gah Ouadaruhn to the dizzy height of the top of Tel Ouada.
The docks of the huge imperial city of Firewatch are waiting in the distance...
Firewatch is the center of Imperial power in the area, and is home to the bullish Duchess Perulia Jandacia, recently elevated to the status of Duchess of the Telvanni District.
The lighthouse shines out over the bay, a symbol of Imperial power.
The mighty castle of Firewatch has stood for centuries as a bastion of Imperial strength, but as the unrest in Cyrodiil threatens to draw the legions from the provinces and the duchess pushes Telvanni patience to its limit, the locals wonder for how much longer it will stand.
And now, a look at the city from one of the main gates...
Overlooking the beautiful Molagreahd Region from two of the numerous stone towers:
Looking at the east gate from the mainland; we are very close to a bare tree and another dusk...
... Until the night comes on one of the biggest imperial settlements in Morrowind. The weather is often quite foggy during the day, but the nights the sky and the stars are beautiful we already saw many and many times.
Looking at the north gate...
Time to find a bed now; guards will keep on patrol the city this night, but our hero defdinitely needs some rest now.
