There is a very good tutorial on this page that might prove helpful in learning how to use dialogue.

Thanks for that! I've got the greeting figured out. The greeting window starts out blank, of course, since the original guar didn't have a greetng. But you can't add a greeting with the filter set, so I set the filter so that it was empty, showing all greetings, and then added the single greeting to the bottom of Greeting 5's list as Grumpy did. Works fine now -- I see all the topics and can tell Obi what to do. But... Obi resumes wandering as soon as the dialogue is closed. SO... some more troubleshooting. Companion share is there, too, incidentally. Once I'm done, hopefully I can find someone somewhere who can test Obi with a Morrowind-only setup. If I'm lucky then they won't have any actual errors and they just won't have warping or companion share or whatever else. Of course, I may not be lucky.... I suppose if we find out that the warping portion of the script actually causes error messages then I could just remove those bits from the script. The warping would be nice but not necessary for this purpose since this guar isn't intended for seriious gameplay. [edit] EUREKA! It's ALIVE! It's ALIVE! After realizing I didn't put commands on the topics, and after tweaking the base Wander package to match Grumpy's, Obi works great! That's just based on brief testing, but tested everything and he works fine as far as I can tell.

You can also use the console to add whatever you want to any npc or creature no matter what version you have, as long as you know the object ID I don't know if the warp scripts will crash a morrowind only installation or if they just won't function. I don't feel like unistalling to find out, lol. Adding companion share would not crash a morrowind only installation however, as it's simply a local short variable named 'companion' in the script. So if you have tribunal or bloodmoon, you'll have comapnion share, if not you don't. Yes, infact Vorwoda's companions uses ID + Dialogue in order to share stuff with the Player; i have fully tested that mod and found it simply amazing and exciting, as it required an HUGE work of dialogue and scripting. We always welcome innovative stuff here, no matter if they work with modded items or not; we own the expansions but as a general rule we always keep in mind that many people couldn't buy them from the Internet or wherever, so we think in that way :" What is good for you, couldn't be good for others". Intrepid, feel free to share some links of your WIP here: we are just diying of curiosity now! I hope you will solve your troubles with dialogue very soon, have you downloaded the tutorial suggested by me and Denina?

Sometimes I wonder how many people still don't own the expansions, though! But I think what I'll do is simply comment out the warping section -- it's just a few lines and the guar would usually follow very well without warping since Grumpy was pretty thorough with giving the guar high speed and agility, etc. Orrr, I could easily create a regular version (with warping) and a MW-only version (warping commented out of the script) and list both for download upon release. The dialogue problem is fixed -- you can see in my previous posting what the fix was. I still consider this 'beta' since there are doubtless a few things to do. BUT you'll find the Home should be complete, and I don't think there are any bugs at all. Any additional things to do would be just decoration/clutter/refinement, and I'd appreciate any suggestions! Obi is the only guar in the Home at the moment. Download BETA Home 4.0 here(I'm sure my Dad will want to see the return of Stanley (the other guar), and my wife is bugging me to put in a 'Marley' so both our dogs will have namesakes. But three guar??)

Thanks for this first Beta, Intrepid! I'm sure that you did an excellent work, so i'm going to play through it very soon! Thanks! - EDIT: The download link seems to be dead.

I fixed the link above (and repeated here anyway) Download BETA Home 4.0 here(Somehow there was an invisible <br> in it... I pasted the link from the "modify post" into Notepad and saw the weird <br> code in the middle of the link. Could have been something I did somehow.)

Downloaded, and tested. I had a long walk with Obi, so i can tell you that he works good to me: the dialogue is very well done, and the script seems running quite good. Fast travel works very well, too. Just two things, the little critter seems a bit too fast sometimes and he may experience some little troubles walking on stairs or rope bridges and may clash with the NPCs in the house the first time; but these are really minor issues, caused by the vanilla guar - animation and not by the script i suppose. The house interiors looks ok; i had a better look at it and appreciate the new beds for the NPCs and other miscellaneous little changes. Though i still miss someting (... maybe the famous plates?) i really appreciate the changes. Oh and the new 'Ebonheartian' Imperial flags looks good too; now just think to something to improve the look of the main façade... I would had another pair of red and bigger Imperial flags that comes with Tamriel Rebuilt Map 1 ( Click), but you should unpack its .bsa file with the proper utility.

Yes, the guar is probably a little too fast. His base speed is something normal, but the script resets his speed to 2.25 times player speed. Given the warping script, 2.25x speed seems high. I'll drop it to 1.75, see how it works. What plates were you referring to? The dining table is already set -- maybe some plates on a shelf in there? I found a large vanilla imperial exterior banner -- I put that in place on either side for now. And it's a definite improvement. I also added an awning over the front door like they use in Ebonheart, though this one is better! I'm also working on putting in some sort of mini-kitchen in the diningroom, in that corner where the statue was. I moved the statue just outside of the cell (for now), so Azura is probably a little miffed that she's having to hover outside the diningroom wall now... What I'd like to do is have something like a barbecue area there.

Hum, i was referring to the plates on the dining table indeed; i haven't noticed them, so probably i have to change my glasses! ;D Tweaking Obi's speed would help his wander mode as well, i think. Yes, i like the other ideas; go ahead and feel free to share some nice links with us - we are curious persons here.

Oh, you're right: infact i tested Obi with a level 100 PC! ;D
Great pictures, i like them and the improvements; maybe that the Ebonheart chimney looks yellow to you due to textures replacers? I always use textures from Carnajo or MPCanus, and always liked the chimneys...

I set the guar's speed to 1.85x -- final compromise perhaps. I'll work on the final revisions and carefully clean the mod again tonight, maybe it'll be ready for production. Then I think I could just comment out the elements of script that pertain to warping and add that file as a Morrowind-only version.

Ok, we can't wait for the final release then! And osiris' will be back in a few days (just in time to grab it, though).

I don't know if the warp scripts will crash a morrowind only installation or if they just won't function. I don't feel like unistalling to find out, lol. Well, now I know! I had spent the last couple days rebuilding an old PC. It's an old P4-2.4 with 1.5GB ram (AGP). I changed the GeForce 5500 video card to a nice 7300GT card, and a new 80GB hard drive. I thought I'd install Morrowind and expansions to see how it goes, but after getting the basic game installed I realized that that here was vanilla Morrowind-only test-bed! The game doesn't crash, but at the moment you enter the Home interior you get a popup error about a script error, and that the script will no longer run, but you can continue playing. Obi's there, and the dialogue topics work fine, and he'll be your companion and follow you around. I didn't test all functions like telling him to wander, etc., but he does run after me nicely enough. And he's a large guar, since Grumpy's script has commands to set the scale. So there ya go! I'll need two versions if I want to support Morrowind-only installations. Think I'll leave the machine like that, perhaps, as a test-bed. If anyone wants anything tested in vanilla Morrowind-only environment, let me know! [edit] Mounted a crank on the fireplace, working on the script to activate/deactivate the fire. Simple activation/deactivation isn't a problem though getting the crank to rotate right is a pain. By the way, how do you set an object to initially disabled? In Oblivion there's a checkbox for "initally disabled" on all references, but not in Morrowind.

Home 4.0 in Suran is submitted! Any comments and suggestions for the old house would be much appreciated! And so many thanks to all of you for your many recent suggestions! www.omashu.net/Elderscrolls/Intrepid/Morrowind/Home4/Home_4.0.zipChanges from version 3.6: Rescaled the interior from 2.0 down to 1.5. Much nicer at 1.5! Thoroughly refined interior decoration due to rescaling while carefully maintaining the look and feel of the old Home. Made Obi a companion guar. Added a fireplace barbecue in the diningroom in place of where Azura stood. Added a chimney outside. The fire (and chimney smoke) are activatable via a dwarven crank. Fire and smoke are initially disabled, so crank up that barbecue! Cleaned with TESAME.
